On this week’s ep, I’m sitting down with Kazna Asker. Kazna is fashion-focussed multi-disciplinary artist who celebrates her Yemeni culture through her clothes and documentaries. Sam Birch, who helped with the filming of M.O.G. series one, sent me a link to a BBC news segment celebrating Kazna’s first show at London fashion week, which was very, very sick. I watched her documentary about the place she comes from on the train back from London and thought she’d be ace to get on My Own Garms. She makes absolutely mint gear incorporating second-hand trackies and traditional woven fabrics. I’m buzzing hear more about the diverse influences she draws on to create her work and how she celebrates and elevates her community through garms. Paris, London, New York, Milan - we’re here for all of that. But what we really want to know is what coat you had in year 10 at high school, which pair of socks you’re most emotionally bonded to, and which pair of your dad’s trainers you reckon you could actually get away with wearing
